Rainy Days and Puny Days

Luckily, it was between rain waves when I rolled out of bed and romped with Henry dog down the lane. The moon was still up and bright in the sky...not quite daylight. I waited until later to text Joy and check on her. She says she's staying home until noon to see if her stomach is settled enough to go to work. This stomach virus is very bad. Bless her heart, she was so sick yesterday she could hardly lift her head up. Edward and I took turns checking on her. She dosed with immodium and 7up. I had to make her keep hydrated. She looked a little better last night but still weak. Looks like we will have to wait to get some daylilies from Mary for her yard. Did talk to "lil Bill" the other night and found out that Joy's old farmhouse was built in 1898 by his great great grandfather. He does a lot of woodwork for old homes, now working on Old Washington on the Brazos, and thinks Joy should put it on the National Register and she can work with them to restore it. She's already done a lot of work herself, putting on a roof, redoing the fireplace, and painting. It's looking nice. She wants more daylilies for the yard and Mary has some beauties in her lily garden.
I'll take the last of the antibiotics today and now that the pollen has been completely washed away in the flood, I hope that all my nasty illness is gone. It's around 8:30 and we've had a break from the rain this morning but I can hear lots of thunder rumbling out west so I think it won't be long until we get another round of rain. I sure hope it will clear out before Memorial Day because business has been terrible since no one can get out to their boats in Crystal. Fishing is off, it's too cold and rainy for camping or boating. The saving grace is that the woods and yard are so green and beautiful...and unless the tomatoes rot, we should have some nice veggies and herbs.
Boy, there's nothing like blogging as you lie in bed and sip coffee looking out the window into the woods. I am so spoiled.
